Dumps & landfills in Utah

Utah dumps are mostly run by counties and special service districts, with fees that are often lower for district residents than for outsiders. Many sites want proof of residency. Salt Lake, Davis, Utah, Weber, Washington, Cache, Summit and Grand counties are covered with hours and fees from official pages. Several rural counties are listed by name and address only and need a call to confirm.

Utah law (Utah Code 72-7-410) requires loads to be securely covered from origin to the landfill. Fines start at $200, and landfills add their own uncovered-load fees. Official rule ↗

Tires

Utah's Waste Tire Recycling Act funds tire recycling through a $1 fee on each new tire. Each landfill sets its own per-visit tire limit and fee, for example 12 tires per load at Salt Lake Valley Landfill. Official rule ↗

Household hazardous waste

Utah has no statewide drop-off program. Collection is run locally and often limited to residents of the county or district. Call your local health department. Official rule ↗

Utah has no statewide household hazardous waste program. Salt Lake Valley Landfill runs a residents-only site on location. Davis and Morgan County residents use the Wasatch Integrated site (free, limits apply). Weber County takes it Thursdays and Saturdays for $20 a load. North Pointe in Lindon takes residential paint, chemicals and batteries. Elsewhere, call the local health department.
