State rules to know
Waste tires
Idaho law bars hauling waste tires to any site that is not an approved tire storage or disposal site. Storing 200 or more on-road tires needs county approval and a bond. Ask your local landfill whether it takes tires and what limit applies. Off-road and farm tires are not counted as waste tires. Official rule ↗
Household waste
Idaho counties must make sure residents have household waste disposal options, usually through a transfer station that sends waste to an authorized landfill. Household hazardous waste is exempt from hazardous-waste rules, but DEQ urges proper disposal. Official rule ↗
Electronics
Many Idaho county landfills collect TVs, computers and other electronics separately for recycling; there is no statewide drop-off network, so check with your county solid waste department. Official rule ↗
Burning trash
Household trash, including plastics, metals, cardboard, newsprint and packaging, may not be burned outdoors in Idaho. Official rule ↗
Idaho has few permanent household hazardous waste sites. Ada County runs a free facility Fri-Sat for residents, Kootenai has free residents-only sites, and Canyon, Bannock and Bonneville hold scheduled collection events. Check your county before you go.

Can anyone use these facilities?
17 listed facilities are confirmed open to the public. Others may limit access by residency or customer type. Check the individual access rules.
How much does a dump run cost?
Compare the listed minimum charges and item fees. A missing price means call to confirm, and an accepted item may still carry the normal load fee.
